Founded in 1967, it is the first Public Charitable Trust founded by Baba Himself
Welcome to the Sri Sathya Sai Trust (Maharashtra), established by Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba on March 23, 1967. A registered Public Charitable Trust under the Maharashtra Trust Act 1950, housed in Dharmakshetra, Mumbai, we represent a profound heritage dedicated to nurturing spirituality and uplifting the economically weaker sections of society in Maharashtra.
In alignment with our Founder’s timeless principles of “LOVE ALL – SERVE ALL” and “HELP EVER – HURT NEVER,” our charitable initiatives span three core areas:
– Education
– Medical Care
– Social Care, encompassing Food & Nutrition programs.
Governance – We are steered by a Board of Trustees consisting of four eminent individuals, and bolstered by a diverse Management Council consisting of nine members from various professional and social backgrounds. The diverse nature of our management team ensures consistency, transparency, and sustainability of our activities in a disciplined and committed manner, guided by our Founder’s principles.
Geographical Coverage – Registered under various authorities, including the Maharashtra Trust Act 1950, Income Tax Act 1961 (Sec 12 A- (a), Ministry of Corporate Affairs (CSR), and Foreign Contributions Regulation Act (FCRA), we extend our services across the State of Maharashtra, with a notable presence in Mumbai where permanent establishments are rooted.
Services delivered based on ‘Need’ alone – Upholding the ethos of selfless services, prioritising ‘Genuine Need’ as the sole criterion, underscores our unwavering commitment to assisting the underprivileged in accessing essential resources. Core to our belief is the principle of delivering services at no cost to the beneficiaries. We are solely focused on activities that help the underprivileged gain access to basic needs of food, education and healthcare among others.
Our Volunteer Base – At the core of our organisation lies the spirit of volunteerism, embodied by individuals from diverse backgrounds who selflessly serve, inspired by our Founder’s teachings. Their unwavering dedication and commitment serve as our greatest strength, propelling our mission of self-improvement and service to those in need.
